The variety is a hybrid of Populus deltoides × Populus nigra. It is characterized by intensive growth at a young age, especially up to 8–12 years. The tree has a straight trunk and a thin branching system, which simplifies mechanized harvesting and delimbing.

The wood of the variety has a relatively high density, suitable for the furniture industry and construction. The variety shows resistance to leaf rust and bark canker, and also possesses high frost hardiness, including bud resistance to late spring frosts.

The plant is male and produces a large amount of seeds with fluff. The variety is demanding of soil conditions: to obtain high-quality commercial timber, sites with a sufficient supply of nutrients, good aeration, and a favorable water regime are required.
