The tree is medium-sized, with a compact crown, characterized by slow growth and a tendency to overload with crop, which requires thinning pruning. The variety possesses high winter hardiness (zone 4) and resistance to moniliosis and fungal diseases. Fruiting begins in the second year after planting.

Fruits are large, with a mass of 35–60 g, of rounded shape. The color of the skin varies from dark red to dark purple and black-blue. The flesh is dark red in color, firm, juicy, with good stone separability. The taste is sweet, with a predominance of plum notes and an aroma of apricot.

The variety has universal application, being suitable both for fresh consumption and for home processing. Aprisali is not an American plum and does not belong to the species Prunus americana or Prunus munsoniana.
