The Chechi group includes several varieties, such as Chechi Khit El Oued, Chechi Dhraa Tammar, Chechi Horr, Chechi Abyadh, and Chechi Bazza. These plants are adapted to the local climatic conditions of Tunisia.

The fruits of this group are characterized by significant variability. In the studied samples, the fruit flesh is white. The Chechi Bazza variety is distinguished by the presence of sweet kernels.

These varieties are used in local Tunisian horticulture. Research on the group is aimed at studying the genetic profile, oil composition in the kernels, and resistance to viruses, in particular to Prunus necrotic ringspot virus.
