The FERROVIA SPUR variety is a mutant of the Italian sweet cherry Ferrovia. Literature mentions obtaining this mutation through the use of X-rays.

The tree features vigorous growth and a compact (spur) crown type with shortened internodes. The fruits are dark-red in color and very large in size.

The genetic profile of the variety is defined as S3S12. The variety belongs to industrial sweet cherry types and is used in breeding programs to study genetic diversity.
