The Ferobri variety was developed by INRA specialists as part of a cherry breeding program. It has not received wide commercial distribution and is not represented in production reference books with detailed characteristics of height, yield, or maturity dates.

In scientific research, the variety is known as a source of fruit tolerance to cracking caused by rain. It is used by breeders as genetic material in crosses to create new hybrids and to study resistance to diseases and environmental factors.
