The variety is a traditional local variety that has historically been grown in the Pecetto Torinese area. It is classified as an old-type sweet cherry variety, often mentioned in the context of the «Bigarreau cherry» type.
Genetically, the variety is characterized by the S-alleles S6S13. In international self-incompatibility classifiers, the variety is included in maturity group XII.
The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption; their use in processing is also considered due to the high content of anthocyanins and polyphenols. The variety differs from the local «Galucia» variety common in Baldissero Torinese.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
