The variety was obtained through selection from local flora in the Iasi region. Its fruits are not intended for fresh consumption and are used as raw material for the production of jams, liqueurs, and syrups.

The tree is characterized by high productivity and good resistance to frost, drought, as well as to anthracnose and moniliosis. The fruits are small in size, with an average weight of 3–4.9 grams.
