Cross-pollination is required to obtain fruit. Große Schwarze Knorpelkirsche, Büttners Rote Knorpelkirsche, Dönissens Gelbe Knorpelkirsche, Schneiders Späte Knorpelkirsche, and others are used as pollinator varieties.
