Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is a chance seedling originating from Hertfordshire, England. Trees are characterized by vigorous growth and good winter hardiness, with the ability to withstand adverse conditions, including cold and late springs. The variety is often grafted onto Mahaleb cherry rootstock.

Fruits weighing 9–12 g and up to 28 mm in diameter have a spherical shape and a dark red, almost black color when fully ripe. The flesh is dark red, juicy, and sweet, containing little acid. The stone is small and easily separates from the flesh. The crop ripens in late May – early June; the harvesting period can last up to two weeks.
