The Františkova (Císaře Františka chrupka) variety is a vigorous tree with a wide, spreading crown. The fruits are large, broadly round, with firm, bright red skin and red flesh, possessing a sweet and sour spicy flavor.

Consumer maturity occurs in July, usually after the 15th. The variety is self-incompatible and requires the presence of other pollinator varieties for crop formation. Incompatibility in pollination with the Napoleonova and Winklerova černá varieties is noted, as well as a susceptibility of the fruits to cracking during rainy weather.
