The Folfer variety is a product of French breeding. The tree is characterized by vigorous or medium growth and a semi-spreading crown. The ripening period is described as early or mid-early, 10–12 days later than the Burlat variety.

The fruits are very large, reaching 30–32 mm in diameter, with a rounded shape and a dark red skin color. The flesh is firm, crisp, and juicy, with a sugar content reaching 17° Brix. The variety is high-yielding and suitable for both commercial and amateur cultivation. Data regarding the fruit's resistance to cracking are contradictory and depend on growing conditions.
