IFG Cher-two
ActivePrunus avium (L.) L. · Sweet cherry
David W.Cain
10 August 2026
The variety was obtained in Canada as a result of crossing Van and Sam varieties. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and an upright crown type. The variety is self-incompatible and blooms late; for fruiting, it requires the presence of pollinators, such as Kordia, Sweetheart, Van, or Lapins.
The heart-shaped fruits reach a size of 28–32 mm. The skin is a saturated red or dark red color, and the flesh is red, juicy, and firm (cartilaginous). The variety is characterized by high stable productivity and good resistance to Monilinia, while its resistance to fruit cracking is evaluated inconsistently.
