The rootstock is intended for grafting peach, nectarine, and almond. It is also used for plum, and with an intermediate graft, for apricot. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth, inducing high development energy in the scion.
It possesses good resistance to high pH soils and tolerance to iron chlorosis, and moderately tolerates drought. It is sensitive to nematodes, Phytophthora, bacterial canker, root rot, and Armillaria. It poorly tolerates areas with water stagnation and root asphyxia.
It contributes to high yields and the production of high-quality commercial fruit in scions. It forms a developed root system, although a lack of feeder roots may be observed when propagated by cuttings.
