The variety "Achat" (Pi-Sa 5,55) was obtained by crossing the varieties "Köröser" and clone 2,40. The tree is vigorous, forming a dense crown with widely spreading branches, therefore the use of dwarfing rootstocks is recommended.
The variety belongs to the mid-season maturity group and has a long harvest period. The fruits are large, weighing 8–9 grams, with a broad kidney shape. The skin and flesh are black-red in color, the fruits are juicy, with a harmonious sweet-and-sour taste.
The plant is self-fertile and has low fruit susceptibility to cracking. Due to the firm attachment of the fruit stalk, the variety is poorly suited for mechanical harvesting and is intended primarily for the fresh market.
