The Iulia tree has a semi-vigorous growth habit and a pyramidal crown. Leaves are elliptical, with a pointed tip and a U-shaped base. Flowers are small with white-greenish petals. The variety is androsterile and requires cross-pollination; suitable pollinators include Stanley, Gras românesc, Gras ameliorat, Renclod Althan, and Anna Spath.
Fruits are medium-sized, weighing about 38–39 g, with an ellipsoid shape and blue-violet skin with a medium waxy bloom. The flesh is firm, fibrous, moderately juicy, and yellow-green in color. The small stone easily separates from the flesh. Harvest time occurs in the last ten days of August.
