The variety is a natural mutation of the Reine Claude d'Oullins variety. The tree is characterized by very vigorous growth, long ascending branches prone to bareness at the base and splitting under heavy crops. The variety is self-fertile and enters the fruiting period late.
The fruits ripen in the first half of August, have a medium size and a red-violet color. The flesh is amber or yellow-green, firm, and sweet in taste. The fruits do not tolerate transport well and are prone to cracking during rains and damage by wasps.
The variety has low susceptibility to Phellinus tuberculosus and is moderately susceptible to bacterial canker. It is used mainly as a dessert and culinary crop.
