The plant is vigorous and characterized by a late entry into the fruiting period. To obtain a yield, the variety requires the presence of a pollinator—another European plum species. The variety is demanding of a warm summer for high-quality fruit ripening.
In professional horticulture, it is noted as a difficult variety due to a tendency towards irregular bearing, which is why it is gradually being displaced from industrial plantings in favor of private collections. The plum flesh retains its shape well during heat treatment, which allows the fruits to be used for jams, compotes, and baking.
