The variety «Adela» belongs to local Romanian almond varieties. Its creation is the result of breeding work by researchers at the Research Station for Fruit Growing in Oradea.

The main goal of breeding this variety was to obtain plants with a late flowering period, which allows for reducing the risks of flower damage from spring frosts. The variety is intended for the commercial production of high-quality fruits.
