The variety Sunglo (synonym Andup) was bred in the USA by crossing the varieties Sun Grand and the hybrid Le Grand x Halehaven. The nectarine fruits have a diameter of about 7.5 cm, yellow flesh and a sweet taste; they are suitable for fresh consumption, canning and freezing.
The tree can be grown on standard rootstocks, reaching a height of 3–4.5 meters, or on dwarf rootstocks, growing to 2.4–3 meters. The fruit ripening period falls in the summer.
The plant is susceptible to leaf curl, fruit rot, bacterial spot and pest infestation, including the oriental fruit moth, aphids and root-knot nematodes. The variety is sensitive to low winter temperatures and spring frosts.
