The variety is a bud mutation of the peach variety Vesuvio and belongs to the clingstone nectarine type. The fruits have a characteristic flattened shape, which is confirmed by high values of the longitudinal shape index.
In agronomic collections, there is a problem of homonymy, due to which genetically different samples may be preserved under this name. This complicates the standardized characterization of the plant for traits such as tree height or disease resistance.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
