The variety forms round-flat fruit approximately 67 mm in size. The smooth skin is dark red with stripes on a red-orange background. The flesh is yellow, belongs to the non-melting type, and has a firm texture. The pit separates poorly from the flesh.
The May Fire tree variety demonstrates high yield and requires a significant number of chilling hours for normal development. In scientific literature, the variety is known for its low content of the Pru p 3 allergen and is used as base genetic material in breeding programs.
