The variety is a bud mutation of the Elberta variety. The trees are characterized by vigorous growth, productivity, and the presence of large petals on the flowers. The variety is self-fertile.
The fruits are large, of the freestone type with an easily separating pit and juicy yellow flesh. The ripening period occurs approximately one week earlier than that of the original Elberta variety.
The variety was used in commercial fruit growing, as the fruits were suitable for sale on the local market and for transportation. In the mid-20th century, it demonstrated good adaptation in the southern states of the USA.
