Veecling is a canning-type peach variety where the flesh adheres firmly to the pit. The tree is vigorous and highly productive, forming a spreading, medium-density crown.
The fruits are large, weighing 120–200 g, with a round shape and yellow skin with a bright red or crimson blush. The maturity period is medium to medium-late, occurring approximately 2 days after the Redhaven variety.
The variety possesses increased winter hardiness and moderate resistance to bacterial spot, although it can be susceptible to brown rot and pit splitting in certain years. Sometimes, the fruit exhibits excessive reddening of the flesh around the pit.
