The VITTORIA (NJ353) variety is late-maturing: fruits ripen in mid-September, approximately 45–47 days after the Redhaven variety. The fruits are large and have a yellow ground color with an intense red blush covering 20% to 80% of the surface. The flesh is yellow, very firm, and of high taste quality; the pit separates well.
Trees are vigorous, characterized by stable productivity and good fruit keeping quality in cold storage. The variety has low susceptibility to bacterial spot and resistance to certain types of canker. Trees can withstand winter temperatures down to -29°C, but may be vulnerable to spring frosts.
