The tree has a semi-upright growth habit with good branching ability. The variety is characterized by a late flowering period and is self-incompatible, therefore requiring the presence of pollinator varieties to obtain a yield.
The fruits are violet or dark red in color and have yellow flesh. Due to their firm structure, the fruits can be stored for about 3–4 weeks after harvest. The variety is valued for stable yields and is sometimes used as a pollinator for other plum varieties in commercial orchards.
