The variety was obtained through selective breeding from seedlings of Blackamber and Amber Jewel varieties. The trees are characterized by early maturity, regular and abundant fruiting. Breeding work included creating resistance to spot disease.
When ripe, the fruits have dark red, almost black skin and intense dark red flesh. Their weight can reach 200 grams. The fruits contain 5–10 times more anthocyanins compared to common plum varieties and are used both fresh and for the production of functional foods.
