The variety is a hybrid of Prunus mahaleb L. and Prunus avium (L.) L. It provides trees with a vigor level of 60–70% compared to those on wild sweet cherry rootstocks and is 20–25% more dwarfing than pure Prunus mahaleb. The rootstock is well-adapted to light soils, as well as soils with high lime content, however, it is not recommended for heavy soils.

The root system of the variety possesses excellent anchorage. The rootstock shows tolerance to Pseudomonas syringae and Agrobacterium tumefaciens, moderate susceptibility to Phytophthora cactorum and Verticillium dahliae, but is sensitive to Armillaria mellea. The use of this rootstock promotes early entry into fruit bearing, high yield, and earlier fruit ripening.
