The rootstock has moderate vigor, amounting to 60–70% of the vigor of wild cherry seedlings. It has a well-developed root system, ensuring high resistance of trees to lodging. The rootstock adapts well to various soil types, including calcareous soils, however, it is not suitable for use on heavy or waterlogged soils.
Regarding pathogens, the rootstock is moderately susceptible to Phytophthora and Verticillium, sensitive to Armillaria, but shows tolerance to fire blight and Agrobacterium. The use of this rootstock contributes to increased productivity and improved fruit quality, and also accelerates the ripening process in comparison with seedling rootstocks.
