The tree is medium-growing, forming an upright or slightly spreading crown. The bark of the shoots and the foliage have a characteristic brownish-red color, which gives the plant a decorative appearance. The variety enters into bearing in the third year after planting.
The fruits are round, weighing about 18 g, and covered with a waxy bloom. The color of the skin and flesh is dark red. The flesh is soft, of a fibrous structure, and the taste is sweet-and-sour. The stone is of medium size, semi-free from the flesh when ripe.
The variety is self-sterile; for pollination, it requires other cherry plum varieties with coinciding flowering periods. The tree is characterized by relative winter hardiness; the fruits ripen in the second half of August.
