The variety is resistant to sugar beet nematode (Heterodera schachtii). Its primary purpose is use as an intermediate crop to reduce nematode populations in the soil.

The mechanism of action is based on stimulating the hatching of larvae, which penetrate the plant roots but are unable to develop further, leading to their death. The variety is included in official variety lists under the code OR 461.
