The garden Japanese azalea Hachmann's Rokoko is a dwarf evergreen or semi-evergreen slow-growing shrub. At the age of 10 years, it reaches a height of 0.2–0.4 m and a width of 0.7 m. The plant has small, glossy, dark green foliage, which takes on a reddish-brown hue in winter. Flowering occurs in May; the flowers are double, carmine-pink, with a diameter of 4–5 cm. The variety prefers acidic, humus-rich, moderately moist soils and has winter hardiness down to -18°C...-23°C.
The indoor pot azalea Rhododendron simsii 'Rokoko' is a plant up to 40 cm tall with double pink flowers that have petaloid stamens. The flowering period of this variety occurs at the end of February.
