The Rose de Champagne variety, also known as Fleischfarbene Champagner, has been cultivated since 1620. Presumably, the variety originated as a result of natural cross-pollination between white and red currant varieties. The bush is upright and medium-sized.
The berries are medium-sized, translucent, and light pink in color. The taste is balanced and mild. The berries detach well from the clusters; the variety is not remontant.
The variety is suitable for fresh consumption and various types of processing, including the production of jellies, jams, juices, as well as use in baking and desserts.
