The variety is a product of folk selection, cultivated since the 17th century. The plant is vigorous; at a young age, it has an upright bush, which over time becomes dense and moderately spreading. Shoots are thick, straight; non-lignified shoots are green, lignified ones are grey-brown.
The berries have a bright red color, shiny skin, and a round or slightly flattened shape; their mass averages 0.6–0.9 g. The taste of the berries is sweet and sour. The variety is characterized by high resistance to diseases, pests, and lodging, as well as high winter hardiness.
