The variety belongs to the green-fruited gooseberry group. The fruits are characterized by their large size, which historically allowed the variety to be used for exhibition purposes. The bushes reach a height of about 1.1 meters and have thorns.
The variety has low resistance to certain gooseberry diseases. In modern breeding, it is used as a parent form to produce hybrids, such as the Rikö variety of Jostaberry, and has also been the subject of research on mechanized harvesting.
