The Lord Combermere variety is classified as one of the old English exhibition gooseberry varieties, with the first mentions found in literature from 1826.
Currently, the variety is practically not found in general trade. One of the main reasons for its disappearance from active cultivation is its high susceptibility to American gooseberry mildew. Detailed modern agronomic characteristics of the plant and fruits are unavailable in open sources.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
