ActiveRibes uva-crispa L. · Gooseberry
Rolf Bauer
10 August 2026
The variety is of Dutch origin and was obtained by crossing the Gladde Gele and Whinham's Industry varieties. The shrub is characterized by weak to moderate vigor and a drooping habit of the branches. The plant is prickly.
The fruit ripening period is mid-season, close to the Whitesmith variety. The berries are light red, quite large, without pubescence, and possess high taste characteristics. Data regarding resistance to American powdery mildew and winter hardiness are contradictory.
