Protatu is a production rootstock intended for use in commercial floriculture. The breeding program for this rootstock is aimed at improving the quality of the scion grafted onto it, ensuring more efficient growth and development of cultivated rose varieties.

The use of this rootstock promotes an increase in scion biomass and accelerates bud break. According to production data, the use of Protatu allows for a significant increase in productivity indicators compared to the standard Natal Briar rootstock, influencing the number of stems and their length under greenhouse growing conditions.
