The variety «Geloy» was obtained as a result of selective breeding in 1976. Its pedigree is described as [Geneva 17861 × (Lloyd George × Preussen)] × 4a.
The berries are characterized as quite tart and aromatic. The fruits are highly visible on the bush, easy to pick, and intended for sale on the fresh produce market.
The plant is moderately susceptible to Botrytis fruit rot before harvest.
