The variety has a complex pedigree involving various species and varieties, including Rubus idaeus and black raspberry. The plant forms a moderate number of canes of medium to large thickness, which are characterized by the absence of spines and a slight drooping habit. Fruiting laterals are short and directed outwards.
The light red fruits are characterized by a high ellagitannin content. The variety shows susceptibility to the raspberry mite and the presence of Raspberry bushy dwarf virus. In professional circles, confusion with the Glen Ample variety is possible due to physical similarity.
