The variety was bred in Norway and selected based on the results of agronomic trials conducted in the western regions of the country over three harvest seasons. The plant is oriented towards commercial cultivation and the fresh produce market.

Under field trial conditions, the variety demonstrated some resistance to Phytophthora root rot, although laboratory tests in pot culture showed severe infection of the plants with this disease.
