The variety is the result of crossing the Meeker and Rose de Côte d'Or varieties. The plant forms bushes of an indeterminate growth type and is non-everbearing, with a fruiting period lasting about five weeks and harvest in July.

The variety's produce is used in the processing industry, in particular for the production of fruit purées. In a number of phytogenetic studies, the variety was used as an object for comparative analysis of isoenzymes for the purpose of identifying raspberry cultivars.
