The variety belongs to the summer-bearing group; the harvest ripens in early to mid-July. The plant's canes are characterized by vigorous growth and can be either upright or slightly drooping.
The variety has large fruit with a good sweet taste. In breeding work, Puyallup Large has been used as a parent form for creating other raspberry varieties.
