The variety has a mid-season maturity. The fruits are characterized as rather large, colored a relatively dark raspberry-red, and flavor qualities are assessed as medium. Young shoots of the plant have brown bark color.
The variety demonstrates high resistance to cane dieback caused by fungal infections. It is used in international test guidelines for raspberry varieties (UPOV) as a reference sample. Historically, the variety was grown for fresh consumption; at present, it is maintained in genetic collections.
