Bushes reach a height of 1.5–2 meters and have vigorous liana-like shoots with thorns, which may be semi-prostrate at a young age. The variety has moderate root sucker formation; use of a trellis is recommended for cultivation. Genetically, it consists of 3/4 red raspberry and 1/4 black raspberry.

Berries are large, conical in shape, and turn purple upon full ripening. The taste is dessert-like with a pronounced aroma. The fruit is suitable for fresh consumption and processing and retains its structure well when frozen. The variety is of summer-bearing maturity, fruiting on previous year's canes.

The plant has USDA hardiness zones 4–8. The variety has immunity to the aphid Amphorophora agathonica and also exhibits resistance to the aphid Aphis rubicola.
