The plant is an upright, bushy herbaceous perennial reaching a height of about 0.5 m. The leaves are lanceolate, rugose, and slightly pubescent. The raceme inflorescences consist of tubular, bilabiate, dark purple flowers, which are sterile.
The variety is suitable for early and repeat flowering in the period from early summer to autumn. The plant is drought-tolerant once established and prefers full sun, as well as well-drained soils with any pH level. It is used for ornamental purposes, including planting in borders and containers.
