Variety description

The plant forms compact evergreen cushions 10–15 cm in height. Leaves are alternate, simple, obovate, with a lobed margin, deep green in color. Flowers are cup-shaped, bright scarlet, located on short peduncles; as they fade, they may acquire lilac or brownish-purple tones.

The variety is characterized by early spring flowering, which can last from February to June. The plant is winter hardy and withstands temperatures down to -20...-30°C. It prefers partial shade, cool and moist conditions, and is sensitive to heat and drought. Good air circulation is required for the prevention of fungal diseases.

Used as a pot crop, suitable for planting in rock gardens, alpine slides, borders, and on green roofs.
