The plant is a compact clump 15–30 cm wide. The variety is characterized as a low-maintenance perennial intended for cultivation in partial shade and cool, moist climate conditions.

The flowers have a deep red-pink hue and are located on short peduncles. The variety has winter hardiness within USDA zones 4–9, which corresponds to temperatures down to -34°C. The plant is sensitive to excess moisture, requiring good drainage to prevent rotting of the central part of the clump.

In landscape design, the variety is used for decorating rock gardens, alpine containers, and as a groundcover plant in the front parts of borders.
