The flowers of the variety are large, with broad petals, having a bright purple-pink edge, transitioning to a lighter pale-purple center. The base of the flower and the tube are colored white, and the anthers are yellow. The dark green stems consist of segments 4.2–4.5 cm long and 2.8–3.5 cm wide, with three teeth on each edge.
The young plant grows upright, however, with age, the stems begin to hang down under the weight of the flowers. The variety is an epiphytic cactus, demanding of substrate quality and sensitive to water stagnation, which can lead to root system decay.
