The variety is a seedling obtained through irradiation and is a darker variation of the European variety Maria. As the flower petals age, they curl backwards.
The plant is sensitive to temperature conditions: in cooler conditions, the coloration becomes more intense. The variety is often used in plant physiology research focused on studying flower longevity and bud drop.
Schlumbergera is an epiphyte with drooping stems. Depending on growing conditions, age, and the use of growth regulators, the plant height varies.
