The variety is a hybrid of winter rye, created using the P-type cytoplasmic male sterility system. During the 1990s and early 2000s, the variety was widespread in Europe and was considered a benchmark for baking quality and amylogram indicators.
The plant possesses good resistance to pre-harvest sprouting. Depending on growing conditions, the thousand kernel weight was estimated as relatively low, while grain test weight could vary. Over time, the variety was replaced in commercial production by higher-yielding hybrids.
